Rebecca McBride was born on 29 (or 27) March 1799 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County of Virginia (later West Virginia). She was the daughter of Thomas McBride (1776-1939) and Catherine John (1778-1841).
Rebecca was married to William Green (1797-1847) in 1817 in Fairfield County, Ohio.
She was the mother of twelve children as follows: John Mordecai, Thomas, Ephriam Bilderback, Josiah. Mary, George Patterson, Francis Marion, William Jasper, Isaac Newton, David, Isaiah, and Martha.
"When my mother was thirty-seven years old, she went to visit her parents for the last time, at her old home in Virginia, not very far from Wheeling. Shortly after this visit mother's parents moved or started to Utah territory and she never heard from them again." Written by daughter, Martha.
William died February 7, 1847 at his home in Hocking County Ohio at the age of 49.
Rebecca's death was on October 7, 1883, however, we don't know where she died. It
was most likely in Scioto township, Pickaway County, where she resided in 1860 and 1870, or possibly in Fairfield County Ohio. We also don't know the location of her burial, but assume it would have been beside her husband, William, in the Union Church Cemetery, Row 6.
