Louis "Bud" Wesley Grant, Jr. was born on May 18, 1925, and lived a full and active life. He passed away at age 97; on October 24, 2022, while out on a walk with his wife, Helen "Kay" (Galloway); and Jack Russell Terrier, Gizzie.


Bud went to Culver Military Academy and went on to serve in World War II from January of 1945 until August of 1946 in the 42nd Infantry Division Headquarters.


After the service, Bud returned to his hometown of Tulsa, OK, where he worked for his entire career at Home Federal Savings and Loan Association (later Sooner Federal.)


Bud was an active community volunteer in Tulsa serving on the Chamber of Commerce board, the Tulsa Fair Board, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, a Trustee at the University of Tulsa, and the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa. He also served on the Board of Stewards at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.


Bud married Helen "Kay" (Galloway) Yeary in 1986. Bud and Kay celebrated wonderful years of marriage together living in Tulsa, OK, Crested Butte, CO, Carefree, AZ, and finally Santa Fe, NM.


Bud was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking and enjoying the beauties of nature. He was also a pilot and particularly enjoyed flying his Beechcraft Bonanza and Baron airplanes


Bud was known by all as a man of integrity, honor and principles. He was a kind and thoughtful person who was considerate of others.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Arietta Sedonia "Etta" (Brady) (1898-1967) and Louis Wesley Grant Sr. (1894-1974); brother, Charles Brady Grant (1920-2014); son, Louis "Buzz" Wesley Grant III (1954-2022); and his first wife, Mary Elizabeth (Grosclaude) (1924-1999).


Surviving him is his wife of 37 years, Helen "Kay" (Galloway); his two daughters, Cynthia Ann Grant-Roberts (Charles Clay) and Susan Patricia Grant-Palombo (John); his daughter-in-law, Kari Grant; six grandchildren: Jennifer Roberts, Chuck Roberts (Jessica), Beau Grant (McKenna), Nick Palombo, Michael Grant Palombo, Megan Palombo; two step-grandchildren, Vanessa Hirt (Jon) and Brittany Greenwood (Benjamin), two great-grandsons, Louie Roberts and Fletcher Roberts; Kay's children, Alden Yeary McDonald (Terence Michael) and Barton Yeary (Diana); and Kay's grandchildren, Atticus Oliver McDonald, Brixton McDonald and James Yeary.
