Funeral services celebrating the life of Beverly Ann Bodkin, 84, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2022, with Deacon Patrick Wilson as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9-11 A.M., prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Beverly, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 3, 1938, to the late Joseph and Jessie (Gorley) McCarty.

A graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, Beverly worked for many years at the Newark Telephone Company, retiring from Alltel Phone Company. She was proud of her Catholic faith and what it provided to her over the many years. She was affectionately referred to as the "Mother Teresa" of the family, for the countless times she provided care and support to her family members.

Beverly enjoyed watching Jeopardy and making arts and crafts. She carried a wit about her and was very thorough with any task given.

She leaves behind her husband, Robert Bodkin; children, Daniel Thomas and Kathy (Malcolm) Creager; and granddaughter, Jessica (Eric) Chin.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her sisters, Janet (James) Maharg and Rosemary (Myron) Yingling; and nephew, Joseph Maharg.
