Christian Annis was born 1824 at Phelps, New York, the son of Stephen and Christen Annis. He enlisted October 19, 1864 at the age of 40 years old and served Company "E", 183rd Infantry Regiment. He was mustered out at Salisbury, North Carolina on July 17, 1865. In 1860 he resided at Hamilton County, Ohio and in 1870, after the war, he is reported on the census records as residing at Springwells Township, Wayne County, Michigan.
