Roger Bruce Hermanson died peacefully February 21, 2022 at his home at the Mankato Lodge Senior Living due to complications related to an extensive bowel surgery. He was also suffering with Parkinson's Disease.

Roger was born July 13, 1935 in Brush Creek, MN to John and Adeline (Wilder) Hermanson. Roger met the love of his life Jane Kiewatt while both worked at Finney Dry Cleaners. After dating for a couple of weeks he bought her a pair of rollerskates (which she still has), they were married July 9, 1955 and have skated through life ever since. To this union, three children were born; Steven, Kathleen, and Kevin. Roger worked many jobs, often multiple at a time, Abe's Shoeshine, Pinsetter (Imperial), Model Dairy, Finney's Dry Cleaners, Like-Nu Dry Cleaners, and 40+ years for ISD 77 (Mankato High School--1958-61 and Jefferson Elementary--1961-1998 as its original custodian-engineer), in addition, he owned Hermanson Cleaning Service and served on the Skyline Volunteer Fire Department (many years as Fire Chief).

Roger is survived by his wife of 66+ years, Jane; children: Steve (Linda) of Eagan, Kathy (Lon) Whitehead of Mankato, Kevin (Geri) of Kasota. Grandchildren; Joshua and Elizabeth Hermanson, Samuel (Aleesa) Whitehead. Siblings; Duane Hermanson of Blue Earth, Jean (Ronald) Kruse of St. Clair, Robert (Kim) Betchwars of Ozark, MO, Jacqueline Halla of Mankato. Brother/Sister in-laws; Carl (aka Mike) Kiewatt, Donna (Jones) Kiewatt. Many nieces/nephews and other extended family.

Preceeded in death by his parents, in-laws, 3 brothers (James, Earl, Marvin) and numerous brothers/sisters in-law.

Visitation will be at Woodland Hills Funeral Home Sunday, February 27 from 2 to 5 pm. Funeral service at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on Monday, February 28 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior.
