WINSLOW — John Ammon Sr., senior partner in the Ammon Turkey Farm at Winslow, died at his home here early this morning after a long illness. He was born in Bern, Switzerland, June 19, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Ammon. He came to the United States in 1913 and lived first in the Monroe area. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Leland (Marian) Timmerman of Zion; one son, John Ammon Jr. of Winslow; three brothers, Rudy Ammon of Argyle; Ernest and Fred Ammon, both of Monroe; and one sister, still in Switzerland. There are eight grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. John's Church, the Rev. Paul Olson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rock Lily Cemetery, Winslow. Friends may call at the Steussy Funeral Home after noon on Thursday, and after 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the church.

WINSLOW — Services for John Ammon Sr. will be in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Paul Dim, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Rock Lily cemetery. Friends may call at the Stuessy Funeral Home in Monroe until 10 a.m. Saturday and then at the church. Survivors include his wife Hulda, two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Marjorie) Wenzel of Kent Township; and Mrs. John (Marian) Timmerman of Zion; and one son John Jr. of Winslow. He was a veteran of World War I. He operated a meat market here from 1923 to 1938 and then became senior partner in the firm operating the Ammon Turkey Farm.
