Mrs. Frieda Muehlberg, 78, of 933 North 23 Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, January 8, at Memorial Hospital, Mantiowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Jens Funeral Home and Crematory, Mantitowoc. The Reader will be Jack Myers of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Manitowoc. Cremation will follow.
Mrs. Muehlberg was born October 29, 1906, at Mishicot, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Zander Terens.
She attended schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1924. She then attended Manitowoc County Normal School and completed her schooling at Milwaukee Normal Schoo, Milwaukee.
Mrs. Muehlberg was an Elementary School Teacher, teaching in County Schools, rural School Hill and Racine, Wisconsin, and comint to Manitowoc where she then taught at McKinley, Garfield, Madison, Jackson and Rapids, being in the Manitowoc School Systerm for 20 years, retiring in 1971.
She married William Muehlberg on July 8, 1931, at Rockford, Illinois, with a double ring ceremony with Elsie Glaublitz Zander Wage and Fritz Zander. The couple then returned to Manitowoc to make their home. Frieda and Elsie Wage were long time friends of 58 years and were leaders of one of the first Girl Scout Troops in Manitowoc.
Mr. and Mrs. Muehlberg celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1981.
Mrs. Muehlberg was a membe of First Church of Christ, Scientist, where she was First and Second Readers, President of the Borad, and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of Eastern Star and the REtired Teachers Association. She served as President of Manitowoc Band and Orchestra Mothers in 1950 and Vice President of State Band and Orchestra Mothers in 1950 and Vice President of State Band and Orchestra Mothers in 1950. Mrs. Muehlberg was a former member of the League of Women Voters, Homemakers, and the Garden Club.
Survivors include two daughtes and son's-in-law, Mary and Kenneth Fletcher of Colfax, Calif., and Joyce an Kenneth Hanson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a grandson, Jamie Hanson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Marie Terens of Manitowoc, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbnad, Willia,m a brother, Max Terens Sr., and a sister, Belle Terens Zander.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc, 12:00 (noon) on Friday until the time of services. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
Memorials may be made to First Church of Christ, Scientist, or the donor's choice.
