Services for C. Elgin Knott the founder of the Cal Poly School of Engineering and Technology will be at 2 pm Saturday at St. Mark's Untied Methodist Church 3942 La Colina, Santa Barbara. Before his death Wednesday in Santa Barbara, Knott had hebeen a resident of the Vista del Monte home for retired teachers for the last 6 years. He had been ill for the last four years. He Jnfawfl (?) the Cal Poly faculty in 1921 to head the newly formed Engineering Mechanics Department and retired in 1959 as dean emeritus. Surviving are his wife Pearl Knott of Santa Barbara, a daughter Jeanette, and a brother Walter Knott founder of Knott's Berry Farm. Memorial gifts may be made to the CJS Knott Memorial Scholarship Fund.
