George moved with his family from Mississippi to Morgan Co., IL in 1834 when he was age 13. In 1854 he and his brothers John and Robert bought land west of Maroa, Ill and moved their families there the following year. Sometime later, George moved his family to the Springfield area. In 1878 his family moved to Kansas settleing in Rice Co., where they bought farms for their 4 sons, John, Wylie, Cyrus, and Frank. George and his wife, Eliza, both were returned to Springfield, IL for burial in a lot they owned.
