"Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, August 30, at the Savannah Christian Church for Clarence M. Pyles, 61, with Rev. E. F. Hagee of St Joseph officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Cemetery.

Clarence M. Pyles was born April 18, 1890, in Summertown, Tenn., son of Reuben and Mary Pyles, both deceased. He died August 28 after an illness of several weeks. He came to Missouri when a small boy and spent the rest of his life here.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Pyles of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Nuckols of Parkville and Mrs. Lucille Taylor of Savannah; and two sons, Wayne and Robert of St Joseph. Another son, Everett, preceded him in death on April 9, 1944.

Other survivors are two brothers, Burt of San Francisco and Clyde of St Joseph; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hurst of Savannah, Mrs. Lucy Adkins of St Joseph, Mrs. Ruby Rhodes of Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. Yula Anderson of Reno, Nev.; three grandsons and one step-granddaughter."
