Gwen married Edgar Averitt on April 2, 1932 and they had one child. They were married over 70 years before Edgar passed away two years ago.

Gwen and Edgar moved to Lubbock in 1947 and together they ran and owned four music stores over the years in cities such as Lubbock, Abilene, Wichita Falls and Longview. Many thanks to her loving care giver Pat Johns for her love and devotion over the years.
