Cynthia Dean Sikes, 53, of Palatka, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in Metter, Ga., following brief illness.
She was a native of Ohio, and had been a longtime resident of Palatka, coming from Frankford, Ky. She was of the Baptist faith. Cynthia was a very unique and outgoing person who enjoyed computers, the Internet, socializing, traveling and going for long rides. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed writing poetry.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Dean Simon; and a sister, Brenda Gail Allen.
Surviving are a daughter, Jenifer Cornelio of Palatka; father, Steve Paul Simon of Bostwick; two brothers, Steven Dale Simon of Florahome and Paul A. and Judy Simon of San Mateo; a sister, Sylvia Jean Simon of Florahome; and two grandchildren, Leeanne Nichole Cornelio and Jonathan Wayne Cornelio, both of Palatka.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Palatka Memorial Gardens.
