Arthur "John" A. Carter
Longtime Davis resident Arthur "John" A. Carter, 82, died March 25, 2003, at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur. Funeral services were March 29 at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Donald Carter officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery. He was born June 13, 1920, in Katie to Milburn R. and Jessie (Stone) Carter. He grew up in the Katie and Hennepin areas. He married Mallinee "Molly" Sadler on Nov. 28, 1938, and she preceded him in death Feb. 17, 2003. They lived in California for several years before moving to Davis in 1947. Carter worked for Trigg Drilling Company and later for Mobil Oil Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. He is survived by: two sons, Donald of Davis and Ted of Sparta, Mo.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Cecil. Pallbearers were Jackie Don Sadler, Lloyd Stapp, Keith Brott, Steve Stevens, John Litke and Frank Heaton. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Married to Molly Sadler, these two loved to fish for crappie and feed the family good fresh fish.
