John Willis Brumley, age 90, of Princeton, Texas, passed away February 7, 2008, in Irving, Texas. John was born July 11, 1917, in Pickton, Texas, to Jasper Jackson and Lula Savanna (Powell) Brumley. He married Dorothy Marie Brown on June 5, 1943 in Rockwall, Texas. John was a retired local business owner. He was an ordained minister and provided missionary work in the Mexican Baptist Orphanage Home in San Antonio, Texas. John was also an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He is survived by his son, Bill and wife, Laurie of San Diego, California; daughters, Shirley Mayfield and husband, Cliff of Princeton, Texas and Brenda Martinez and husband, Ruben of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother, Willard Brumley and wife, Bonnie of Pickton, Texas; sisters, Stella Ramshay and husband John of Mesquite, Texas and Ivy Renshaw and husband, Kyle of Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Brown Brumley and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Winterfield Baptist Church Pickton, Texas. Interment will follow at Winterfield Cemetery in Pickton, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
