Bobbie Ruth Lovell Von Wahlde, known to all who loved her as "Granny," passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008.
Graveside service: 9 a.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Bobbie was born in Clyde to Paul and Molly Odessa Lovell on Dec. 10, 1931. She fell in love and married her childhood friend, Bernard John Von Wahlde Jr., in Roby on Nov. 25, 1946. They moved and raised their family in Fort Worth in 1956.
Bobbie was a fun-loving and kind-hearted person. She took great joy in cooking and opening her home to her family and friends and they enjoyed being with her and eating her homestyle country cooking. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed doing her part in caring for her grandkids as well as their friends. Bobbie was a loyal and faithful Granny. She never missed a school event or a sporting event. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. "Smokey" Von Wahlde; and her son, Johnny Paul Von Wahlde.
Survivors: Daughter, DyAnne Ruth Campbell and husband, Billy of Fort Worth; sons, Ben Von Wahlde of Fort Worth and George Randall Von Wahlde and wife, Cassandra of Keller; grandchildren, Ty Sexton and husband, Keith of Cleburne, Tiffany Bacon and husband, Robert of Rio Vista, Johnny Von Wahlde of Fort Worth, Paul Douglas Von Wahlde of Stephenville and Micah Von Wahlde of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Brenden and Brady Sexton and Andrew and Gage Von Wahlde; brother, Marvin Lovell and wife, Lee of Hawley; and many nieces and nephews.
