Alvin "A.J." Mynar, of Buda, died peacefully on August 20, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

Alvin was born at home in Hill County on June 1, 1939 to Joe and Agnes (Snapka) Mynar, the second of eleven siblings. The family moved to Rhineland in 1943 and lived there until 1950 when they moved back and settled at Abbott. Alvin married his beloved wife, Victoria Teodula Deleon, in 1999 and she preceded him in death in March, 2020.

Alvin graduated from Abbott High School in 1957 and joined the United States Air Force. After serving his country he began his career as an Electrical Machinist Technician for RocketDyne in McGregor. He then worked for Tracor Inc. in Austin, and finally Lockheed Martin Corp., both in Austin. Alvin enjoyed his work and was always a highly valued employee. He also operated an ornamental concrete business. Alvin always had to be working on something, but his favorite activity was reading, especially anything about history.
