Alvie "Dusty" or "Sonny" Beets went to be with his Lord on November 6, 2022. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Visitation will be held at 10:00am , Monday, November 14 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. The celebration of his life will follow immediately after at 11:00am. with Pastor Billy Burchfield and Dr. Larry Ashlock officiating. Graveside service will follow immediately at Billington Cemetery.

Dusty was born in Ennis, Tx on May 3, 1941 to Alvie L. Beets Jr. and Maxine Willis Beets. He worked as a truck driver for 45 years, traveling all of the continental United States and Canada. He retired from driving in 2004.

He enjoyed collecting guns and spending time with his family. He enjoyed all of his friends from work and church and was always willing to help family and friends. He was a hard worker and everything had to be perfect in his estimation; especially the log house he and Barbara built with a lot of help from family and friends. He was someone you could always count on. He served as a deacon at Williams Creek Baptist Church.

Dusty is greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Barbara, and his children, David Beets, Sheila Paredez and son-in-law Gary, and Bruce Beets and daughter-in-law Kelcy. Sisters, Linda Carter and husband Chuck, and Lisa Allen, and brother Michael Roberson. Grandchildren, Tyler, Tori Stewart and husband Logan, Heather, Shelton, Elijah, Britain, Kelsey, Autumn, Victor, Taryn, and Jenna, and bonus grandchildren, Julius and Jessie Paredez. Great Grandchildren, Margaux, Killian, Wesley, and Adeline. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins and countless friends.
