He married Bertha Hockenberry in 1913 and she survives. He was a mechanic most of his life. He attended the New Lebanon Community Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are the following: One daughter, Mrs. Esther Foster, of Sandy Lake; three sons, Verne and Robert, Sandy Lake RD1, and Wayne of Sandy Lake; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Miss Mary Adamson, and one brother, James, both of Stoneboro.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, by one brother, Harry in 1955, and by a sister, Mrs. Susie Grossman, in 1961. Published in The News-Herald, Franklin, Pennsylvania, 23 Jan 1962.
