OBITUARY:
Mrs. J.M. Long, yesterday at 3:30 o'clock, at her home, corner of Twelfth and Thirteenth streets, died after a lingering illness. Death was caused by cancer. Funeral announcements will be made later.

Funeral Services of Late Mrs. J. A. Long To Be Held At Residence Today.
Funeral services for Mrs. J. M. Long who died at the family home, 1188 State street Friday afternoon, will be held from he home this afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Richard N. Avison will conduct the services. Mrs. Long (nee Ladd), was born in Harmony, Chautauqua county, New York, March 11, 1849 and was married to J. M. Long, May 1, 1873, at Oil City, Pennsylvania. She was 62 years old.
She, with her husband, came to Oregon in 1880, settling at Brownsville. In the fall of 1892 she moved to this city and has been a resident here every since. Mrs. Long has been a good mother, a true friend to everyone and the community will miss her much. For forty years Mrs. Long has been an active member of the Methodist church.. She leaves to mourn her loss, J. M. Long, her husband, and five children, Mrs. L. D. Boyer f Portland; Mrs. R. L. Ballinger of Tacoma; Albert W. Long of San Francisco,; James G. Long, of Salem, and Paul M. Long of Portland; also one brother and four sisters, Wm. G. Ladd, Franklin, Pa.; Mrs. M. C. Hodges, Cedar Falls, Ia.; Mrs. W. S. Carpenter, of Scio; Mrs. P.A. Bliss, Medford; Mrs. Wm. M. Bell, Franklin, Pennsylvania.
