William B. "Red" Cricks Sr., 78, of Parks Township, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, in Cabot. He was born May 15, 1929, in Butler, a son of the late Jesse and Margaret (Bowser) Cricks. He lived in the Apollo and Vandergrift area all of his life.

Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed as a core man by Wean United Foundry, in Vandergrift, with 36 years of service. William was Protestant by faith, and was a former member of the Apollo Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and working on automobiles.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Marie (Burkett) Cricks; three sons, William B. "Wilber" Cricks Jr. and his wife, Mary Lou, of Levittown, Alan D. Cricks and his wife, Tavee, of Pensacola, Fla., and Barry L. Cricks Sr. and his wife, Anna Marie, of Parks Township; a daughter, Judy Moss and her husband, Marlin, of Dallas, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lee, Russell, Martin, Jessie and Francis Cricks; and three sisters, Betty Byers, Jean Kolendowski and Joann Cricks.

His family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME, North Apollo, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Shallenberger, pastor of North Apollo Church of God, officiating.

Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Kiski Township.
