INJURIES FATAL TO CHILD

An 18-month-old child was fatally injured Tuesday morning when she was run over by a car while playing in a driveway. Beaverton City Police Chief Gary Rushford said Leah Oard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Oard, was playing in the driveway of the apartment house where her parents and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Malosh live on Glidden Road when the mishap occurred about 10:30 a.m.
Rushford said Mrs. Malosh had gotten into the car and started it and called to her son to get in also. The Oard girl was to the right of the vehicle at this time, he added. Apparently the little girl then moved in behind the car and Mrs. Malosh backed up over the child.
Mrs. Oard and Mrs. Malosh rushed Leah to Dr. William Graham's office where the child died. Her obituary appears on page 2. Gladwin County Record dated 08-23/1972 Column - ? Page - 1
