Victor, son of Clarence Heuermann and Anita Alexander Heuermann, was born July 26, 1941 in Peoria, Illinois. Shortly after he was born, his father was deployed in the Navy to Palo Alto, California for a few years. After Clarence's time in the service, the family returned to Illinois. Victor attended Monroe Elementary School and Limestone High School. In 1959 at the age of 17, he met the love of his life, Theresa "Tracy" Leuallen. They were married in 1961 in Peoria, Illinois at Sacred Heart Church.
He received his apprenticeship and later attended Midstate College for real estate. He worked for Peoria Kitchen Top and then P&W as a carpenter. By the early age of 21, he and Tracy began building duplexes. In 1969, Victor and Tracy founded Custom Builders, Inc. and developed the first of many subdivisions. Custom Builders, Inc., with Victor as President, built over 2,500 homes, several apartment complexes as well as commercial real estate projects. Their children, Matthew, Mark and Elizabeth, all worked in the family business, as well as Fred Leuallen, Tracy's brother, and many other family members.
Victor was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He had an incredible work ethic but also knew the importance of family. He was the cornerstone to both the Heuermann and Leuallen families.
After 61 years of marriage, he is survived by his wife, Tracy; sons, Matthew (wife Carrie) and Mark (both residing in Peoria); daughter, Elizabeth (currently living in Marco Island; grandchildren, Victoria, Carol, and Will; his brother-in-law, Fred Leuallen; brothers, Alex Heuermann (wife Brenda) and Alan Heuermann (wife Posie); sisters, Karen Moreland Long (husband Keith) and Susie Heuermann Good (husband Randy); as well as many relatives on both the Heuermann and Leuallen sides.
A Celebration of Victor's Life will be at a later date.
