Retired Chief Warrant Officer II, Homer Belton Allison, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 23, 2010. He was 88 years old.

Homer was among the many brave Airborne troops that jumped the Rhine River during World War II. He was one of the 13 from his unit that volunteered for the assignment. He then went on to the Army Aviation School and became an Army Aviator in 1955. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Performance of Meritorious Service in 1962. Other medals bestowed upon him were Good Conduct Medal, WWII Vic Medal, EAME Camp Medal, AM Camp Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Aviator Badge, Master Parachutest Badge, Sr. Army Aviator Badge. He retired from the Army but continued to serve his country by training Army pilots through his Civil Service position.

Homer Was an avid quail hunter and enjoyed his times in the fields with his bird dogs. Friends from as far away as Alabama would drive to hunt with Homer and his famous dogs. He inspired the best from his friends as well as his four legged companions and was rewarded with great love in return.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Effie Marie, sons Clinton Dale Allison, Randy Melton Allison, Rodney Vernon Allison, and daughter Debra Allison Himes. He is survived by ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with family visitation beginning at 11:30 AM before services.
