Harshman, born April 1, 1816, died at his home in Eaton June 26, 1906. s/o Peter and Christine Harshman, born on farm owned by half-brother, Jackson Harshman, In 1838 came to Eaton and engaged in furniture and undertaking, retired in 1882. Nov 23, 1851 married Cynithia Odell at Crawfordsville, OH, had 2 sons and daughter. Oldest son, J.P. living in Kitchel, IN, daughter Alma J. married C.A. McNeal but died in 1881 and Odell died when 8 years old. Had 3 brothers and 3 sisters, all dead, 3 half-brothers and 3 half-sisters living. Lutheran.
