Robert "Nick" Leroy Nichols Jr., 76, of Soldier, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, while a patient at the Punxsutawney Hospital in Punxsutawney, PA. He was born on November 14, 1945, to the late Robert Leroy Sr. and Mae Elizabeth (Peters) Nichols in Lewistown, PA. Nick married the love of his life, Sandra Lee Colville on October 12, 1974, at the Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church in Reynoldsville, PA; Sandra survives him. He graduated from Triangle Tech with an associate degree and was a longtime electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and Trout Unlimited. He also attended the Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church. He was a simple man that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State Football. Nick also loved animals, especially his cats and dogs. In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by two daughters; Sue Ellen Nichols and Leigh Ann Nichols. In addition to his parents, Nick is preceded in passing by an infant sister; Sue Ellen Nichols, and numerous aunts and uncles. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 4pm to 8pm at the Snyder – d'Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Sunday, November 6, 2022, also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Sam Bundy. Final interment will take place at Desire Cemetery, Desire, Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801, or to the Alzheimer Association, act.alz.org.
