Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Rensselaer County Sheriff Harold Harriman and Freda Larson Harriman and wife of the late Harry P. Brown and Frederick Bordt. She was raised in Averill Park and after she married moved to Westchester, NY and was a graduate of Averill Park High School.
Mrs. Bordt was employed as a substitute teacher at Averill Park High School and Assistant Librarian at Fox Lane High School.
She was instrumental in starting the Sand Lake Library with the Friends of the Library raising $1000 to help fund the library. She was a member of the Averill Park/Sand Lake Historical Society and Women's Club of RPI. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, and was an avid reader. These are all secondary to spending time with the loves of her life - her family.
Interment will be in Sand Lake Union Cemetery Sand Lake.
