Joyce Kay Abbott, age 77, of Adams, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 20, 2020 at home surrounded by family.

Joyce was born September 24, 1942 in Viroqua, Wisconsin to Joseph and Florence (Yeadon) Olson. She grew up in Rockton, Illinois and graduated from South Beloit High School in 1960.

She married John D. Abbott of Big Flats, WI on February 29, 1964. They made their home in Easton Township in Adams County, WI, where they raised their 6 children.

Joyce spent several years being a homemaker, but after her children were grown, she went to work at Brakebush Bros Inc, Westfield. She worked there as a line worker for 26 years until her retirement in 2016. She really enjoyed visiting with her co-workers.

She enjoyed gardening, attending country music jams, reading, puzzles, bowling, watching Game Show Network, and spending time with her beloved dog Mary Jane.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Abbott; parents, Joseph and Florence Olson; brothers, Laverne, Dick, Frank, and Doug; sister, Pat Barton; and granddaughter, Grace Abbott.

Survivors include her six children, Tamra M. Abbott (good friend, Hayden) of Madison, John J. (Melissa M.) Abbott of Westfield, Lonnie L. (Heather) Abbott of Coloma, Connie K. Baker (Bob) of Wisconsin Dells, Tanya J. Abbott of Fond du Lac, Nicole A. Casey (Jeff) of Dalton; sister, Barbara Behling of Beloit; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, John, Jameson, Macy (Brock), Jake, Parker (Sydney), Keaton, Brandon, Hunter, Gunner, and Gus and three great-grandchildren. Joyce is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorials in Joyce's name may be made to MWWCMJ (Mid-West Wisconsin Country Music Jamboree) This is a local charitable organization that Joyce belonged to. Memorials can be sent to Ed & Marilyn Burrows, 1543 3rd Ave. Coloma, WI 54930.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Steinhaus-Holly for their care and assistance. A special thank you to Dani Hess of Westfield for all her compassion, caring, and everything she did for mom. Her efforts were deeply appreciated.

A visitation for Joyce will be held on Friday, September 25th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 (Noon) at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield.
