Marilyn J. Harper, 85, of Madill, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at the Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1937, in Lawton, to the late Austin Bost and Odessa Peters Bost. Marilyn was raised in Lawton where she graduated from the Lawton High School in 1953. In 1985 she moved to Madill and purchased Oakland Grocery. Marilyn owned and operated the store and was known for her lunch deli food, burritos, fried chicken, and potato wedges. She enjoyed visiting with her customers, riding around, going fishing, going to car shows and car races. Marilyn was a great asset to our community and will be missed.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Rocky McKelvey and wife Janet, Heath, Texas, and Greg McKelvey and wife Terry, Comanche; grandchildren: Lauren Beville and husband Kevin and Michael Martinez; great-grandchildren: Bentley and Kolby Beville; companion, Bobby Lowry, Madill.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Curtis and Bill Bost.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022 at Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
