Mr. Early became ill on March 20 and for the past five weeks his condition had been critical and little hope for his recovery. News of his death will be received with sorrow and regret by his many friends.
Mr. Early was born on Jan. 8, 1876 on the Early farm near Pleasant Valley and was a son of the late Samuel S. and Barbara Ann Armentrout Early. He spent his entire life on the farm where he was born, having spent only about away from home during his life.
He was married on Nov. 24, 1898 to Miss Cora Gertrude Rhodes, at the bride's home near Pleasant Valley. She survives him.
Mr. Early was a life long member of the Church of the Brethren and at the time of his death he was a member of the Pleasant Run Church, where he served as a deacon for a number of years.
Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Cecil C. Ikenberry, of Bridgewater, Mrs. Ernest E. Mintzing, of Harrisonburg, Mrs. S. Hollis Lipes, of Roanoke, and Mrs. H. Michael Kelley, of Silver Springs, Md., and two sons, I. Hubert Early, who is serving with the Navy somewhere in the Pacific and Warren I. Early, at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. N. a. Lineweaver, of Pleasant Valley and Mrs. Cora E. Pence, of Arlington.
One son, Samuel N. Early preceded him in death on March 28, 1943.

The body rests at the Lindsey funeral Home on South Main Street.
