"David Kelsey, a pioneer of the days before '49. died of liver complaint at the residence of his sister Mrs. Geo. F. Wyman, on last Monday night, and was buried in Purissima Cemetery. Deceased was esteemed for his qualities. He first came to California with his parents from Oregon in 1844. They settled where Stockton now stands. He was a native of Missouri, and aged 47 years."
