Dorothy Ann (Schultz) Kleinendorst, the daughter of Melvin and Frances (Castorff) Schultz was born on May 17, 1933, in Galesburg, Iowa. Dorothy's mom died during childbirth with Dorothy's sister. Her dad married Hazel Kling.

Dorothy graduated from Sully High School. After high school, Dorothy began working at Newton Manufacturing.

On September 3, 1966, Dorothy married Bernard "Bob" Kleinendorst at St. Andrews Lutheran Church near Sully, Iowa. Dorothy loved gardening, bowling, and following sports teams, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. She continued working at Newton Manufacturing until she was 55 years of age, when she retired to devote time to her family and to spoil her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a very good cook and loved making big dinners at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Dorothy was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church and the Newton Manufacturing Retirement Club.

Dorothy died at the age of 89 years on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Newton Healthcare Center, Newton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, baby sister Doris, her husband Bob Kleinendorst, and a great-granddaughter Madahlynn Polo.

Visitation and Celebration of Life at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials are being designated to the American Cancer Society or the St. Andrews Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her daughter Deborah (Roger) Farver of Monroe, Iowa, son Perry Kleinendorst of Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren Jeff (Shelly) Heyveld, Lori (Kyle) Padget, Travis (Randi) Kleinendorst, Tonya (Dustin) Vos, step-grandchildren Wade (Tonya) Farver, Todd Farver, Amy (David) Henninger, great-grandchildren Skylar Heyveld, Leandra Heyveld, Garin Padget, Zebulyn Padget, Kailyn Padget, Jett Kleinendorst, Josie Kleinendorst, Michael Pitts, Dakota Ortiz, Colton Ortiz, step-great-grandchildren Evie Farver, Nick Farver, Jacob Henninger, Grace Henninger, great-great-granddaughter Sienna, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
