CEHAN, ELAINE M.(Dandridge), 89, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, January 8. Born on May 6, 1918 in Martinsville, VA, Elaine was a Dallas resident for 38 years. She earned her B.A. in Education from Roosevelt University while raising a family, and held various teaching positions. She was married for 58 years to her late husband Eugene Cehan; they both were members of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Elaine was an expert bridge player, avid reader, and adventurous traveler, and enjoyed participating in several organizations and clubs – Daughters of the American Revolution, American Association of University Women, PEO, North Dallas Woman's Club, bridge and book clubs, and others. She loved her family and friends, and had a passion for living life to the fullest. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Betty and son-in-law Dan Owens of Plano; son and daughter-in-law Dr. Gregory and Sarah Cehan of Meadow Vista, CA; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Dr. Bill Bell of San Diego, CA; and her three grandchildren – James Bell and wife Nayiri of Boston, MA, Elizabeth Bell Gilbert and husband Travis of Dublin, CA, and Christina Bell in Signal Hill, CA. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, at Restland's Wildwood Chapel on the cemetery grounds, with a reception immediately following in the funeral home main building.
