Thursday April 12th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.J. Hills, 211 Eleventh street, occurred the death of Mrs. Wayne Hull. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock Rev. Reese of the Universalist church of Des Moines having charge of the services. Internment was made in Linwood Park cemetery west. The pallbearers were Messrs. H.E. Standley, A.H. Standley, William Pardee, Vince Meyrs, Purl Rutledge and L.V. Harpel. Mrs. W. S. Earhart of Wheatland Wyoming and Mr. Hills of Sioux city were present at the funeral.
Edith Belle LeGro was born in Grand Detour, Illinois, on September 15, 1861, and passed away April 12, 1917. She came to Boonsboro at the age of three years. She was married to Wayne C. Hull on September 4th, 1889. To this union was born their only child and daughter Fan, who is now married to Mr. T.J. Hills. Two sisters also survive Mrs. Hull, Mrs. R. Greene of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Mrs. W.S. Earhart of Wheatland, Wyoming. Hrs. Hull adopted the religious faith of her parents, and was a lifelong member of the Universalist church. She was a true and devoted mother, and early in life developed that amiable disposition and lovable character which will ever be a pleasant memory to her friends and neighbors. Free from vanity and blest with a clear vision of the good the beautiful and the true, she humbly and unostentatiously lived as nearly the ideal life, morally and spiritually as the circumstances of this world make practicable. The end of her earthly life was indeed “the end of a perfect day” and inspires the faith that eternity’s dawn is for her no less perfect.
