CHESTER BALLARD OBITUARY

Chester Arthur "Chet" Ballard, 69, of Denham Springs, LA, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 5, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Emma Jane Ballard, and brother, Sonny. Chester began his professional career in supermarket management, then he owned his own construction company and later became an independent consultant for Entergy Corporation for over 20 years. Chester was an ATA Louisiana State Champion in Forms, Sparring, Weapons and Creative Weapons and he has 5 published novels and numerous short stories and poetry that his family will continue to treasure. Of all his accomplishments, Chester believed his family was the greatest. Chester was married to Sharon Elizabeth for 50 years. He is survived by his three children: Chad Arthur, Sean Elton, and April Nicole, as well as his grandchildren: Lacy (Joey McClendon), Chance, Ashton, Brennan, Kayla and Mattie; his great-grandchildren: Laylee and Jacoby McClendon, and his best friend of over 50 years, Phillip Lillard. Surviving siblings are Evelyn Gerald, Chris Ballard, Donna Dipuma and Annette Riley. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at Harleyville Chapel, 26864 Black Lake Club Rd, Maurepas, LA with a reception to follow at the home of Sean and Stacey Ballard.
