In the 1920's he started a trucking co., the "Peacock Motor Express," which delivered goods between Baldwinsville, NY and Wolcott, NY.

KNOCKED FROM HIS TRAIN
Auburn Brakeman Meets With Serious Accident in Syracuse
Homer Peacock of Auburn, a NY Central Brakeman, was knocked from the top of a freight car just west of the NY Central tunnel under the Erie Canal in East Washington street at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

The train was passing under the bridge at Beach street and Peacock's head struck the bridge, and he was knocked to the pavement.

Henry I. Quigley had a similar accident at the same place on Feb 9 last and died of a fracture of the skull.

Peacock was picked up unconscious and taken to St. Joseph's hospital. He had a laceration of the scalp was bruised about the body and may have a fracture at the base of the skull. He was head brakeman on the train. When he was missed the train was backed up, and he was found beside the tracks.

He regained consciousness shortly after his arrival at the hospital, but up to a late hour last night was unable to explain what had happened to him.

Homer Peacock, 81, died Saturday afternoon in the Parkside Nursing Home Oswego, where he had been a patient for three years.

He was a former resident of Baldwinsville until his retirement 15 years ago. Mr. Peacock started the Star Motor Express Route from Baldwinsville to Wolcott, 40 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Flora of San Antonio. TX; three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Axtell of Martville, Mrs. William Shaw of West Monroe and Mrs. George Safe of San Antonio, TX, a son. Minard R. Peacock of Largo, FL; a sister, Florence Abbott of Syracuse; a step-brother, Edward Young of Baldwinsville, 15 grandchildren, 24 g-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:30 pm Tue at the Becker Funeral Home at Red Creek, the Rev. Raymond Gunther, officiating. Spring burial will be in Pine Plain Cemetery, at Cicero. Friends may call Mon evening at the funeral home.
