Gertrude Russek Nemerov Gertrude Russek Nemerov, a .former resident of Palm Beach, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1994, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was 93 years old. Born in Feb. 19, 1901, in New York, she was the daughter of Frank and Rose (Anholt) Russek. Her father was a furrier, who with his brother opened Russeks Furs on 14th Street in Manhattan. The fur store expanded and moved in 1913 to Fifth Avenue

When she was 17, she married David Nemerov, a window-dresser in her father's store. He became merchandising director, the president and chairman of Russeks, which closed in 1959. They had been married 45 years when he died in 1963. The Russeks moved to Palm Beach in 1952. After her husband's death, Mrs. Nemrov moved to the Palm Beach Towers, where she lived until moving to Albuquerque in 1982.

Mrs. Nemerov is survived by a daughter, painter and sculptor Renee Nemerov Sparkia of Santa Fe, N.M.; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Her son, Pulitzer Prize winner and U.S. poet laureate Howard Nemerov, died in 1991. Another daughter, photographer. Diane Arbus, died in 1971. Funeral services were private.
