Marjorie L. (Allen) Minthorn passed away on Jan. 28, 2021. She peacefully passed at home with her family present. She was born to Fay Ora and Lily Mae Allen in Horton Township. In her early years she worked for Bell Telephone which is where she met Elmer Minthorn. They married on Oct. 17, 1953. She later worked as an aide at Fife Lake Public School and after Forest Area Community Schools was formed she became the secretary. She worked in this capacity until she retired in 1988. Marj was an energetic woman that was always on the go. She was no stranger to hard work. She went above and beyond at work, in her community and with raising her family. Marj enjoyed knitting, reading and most of all, cooking. She was an excellent cook. She helped harvest the garden and was a prolific canner, as well. She shared with family and friends many of her delectable goods. She is survived by her three children that she loved dearly, Brenda (Tom) Snyder, Don Minthorn and Cheryl Minthorn. She loved and cared for her five grandchildren and she holds a special place in the hearts of Jesse (Trish-Smrecak) Snyder, Ben (Jillian Bogart) Snyder, Katie (Scott) Firman, Nathan Snyder and Carl Snyder. She loved and enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Cavin Snyder, Keenan Snyder, Lillian Firman, Riley Firman and Roan Snyder. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth (Earl) Neinas; sister-in-law, Betty Allen; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
