She was an active member of Blue Point Freewill Baptist church for a number of years.
Ruth worked at the Obrecht Store in Cisne and Mt. Erie Elementary school as a cook. Her hobbies were gardening, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, and making cakes for special occasions.
Ruth will be remembered as a caregiver and nurturer to not only her own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, the Mugrage children, and countless Blue Point and Mt. Erie children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bill L. Smith, grandson Nathan R. Courtright, five sisters and one brother.
Burial in Cisne Cemetery.
