Ervinetta "Netta" (VanHoose) Pettit, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at The Pines in Kirksville.
Born August 19, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri, Ervinetta was the daughter of the late Irvin and Lela (Kelso) VanHoose Jr. On February 14, 1959 in Kirksville, Missouri, Netta was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Lewis Pettit who preceded her in death on September 30, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Pettit in 1988; two brothers, Allen VanHoose and Darrell Wayne VanHoose in infancy.
Netta is survived by one son, Kevin Pettit out of State; two daughters, Robbie (Randy) Cartmill of Quincy, IL, and Kimberly (Jerry) Sayre of Kirksville, MO; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Debbie VanHoose of Kirksville, MO, Dale and Brenda VanHoose of Spring, TX, and Bruce and Mary VanHoose of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Netta received her education in the Kirksville public schools. She was employed for Lambert's Glove Factory and later worked in housekeeping for Truman State University for twenty-five years and last for St. Andrews Apartments in Kirksville, until retiring. Netta enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a avid reader. She loved her pets and spending time with her family.
