Jean Marie (Craigg) Rasmussen was born on April 30, 1927, in San Diego, California.
She passed away in Marysville on June 1, 2022, just weeks after her 95th birthday.
She married Robert Rasmussen Jr, a long-time Marysville resident, on September 28,
1946 and celebrated over 68 years of marriage. Robert passed away in 2014 after a
short illness at the age of 90. They had met in Seattle when they lived in the same apartment
complex. After dating for a few months, they got married in Marysville and stayed in the
greater Marysville area.

As a child, Jean spent some of her years in foster care. As part of their giving back, Jean and
Bob took in numerous foster children for several years. Jean became a swimming instructor
in the late 1950's and early 1960's after her oldest child contracted polio (1949) and continued
instructing at Lake Stevens, the Everett YMCA and at the Volunteers of America summer camp
in Sultan. She was also active in her daughter's softball team as a coach, while her husband did Scouts with their sons.

Jean and Robert started their retirement years with a around-the-world trip. They made other trips in their RV to all 49 drivable states and several Canadian provinces. They went back to Europe additional
times, visiting Rasmussen relatives in Denmark.
