Evelyn Allene Urich, 75, passed away October 21, 2022, at Schowalter Villa Health Care, Hesston, KS. She was born December 6, 1946, in Sterling, KS, to John Roy Oden and Mabel Marie (Dyke) Oden.
Evelyn was a graduate of Sterling High School, Sterling, KS. She was employed in the Housekeeping Department at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, formerly Hutchinson Hospital Corporation, retiring with many years of service.
Evelyn was a 'professional and selfless' volunteer. She spent many hours volunteering for various organizations because of the need to share her servant's heart and caring personality with others. Evelyn enjoyed her cats and dogs, and feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard. She was known to be ornery, loud, and stubborn, but never in a mean-spirited way.
Evelyn is survived by: her daughter, Regina (Ron Betts) Adams of Dillon, MT; grandchildren, Howard (Chayla Pocha) Betts and Veronica Betts; great-grandchildren, Miya Betts and Rodney Betts; daughter, Danielle (Michael) Hunt of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Alexandra (Mark) Richardson, Ethan Hunt, and Ronnie Hunt; great-grandchildren, Ari Richardson, Hunter Richardson, and Finnegan Richardson; brothers, Donald Oden of Alden, KS, Michael (Nancy) Oden of Hutchinson, KS, and Ronald (Deb) Oden of Sterling, KS; and her furry cat companion, Monkeybutt.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Ralph Roy Oden; and grandson, Edward John Betts.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
