Harry Larson, the second of five children of David Larson and Marion Scholl, was born January 12, 1941 in the home of Mrs. Ekstrom, Washburn, ND. Harry graduated from Washburn High School in 1959, attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, and was awarded the Master Mechanic certificate in 1968. Harry married Lorene Betty Heidt on July 13. 1962 at Faith Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND, and they lived most recently in Washburn, ND, until April 2022 before moving to Bismarck. They have 2 daughters, Kaye (Tom McMurray) Larson, San Antonio, TX, and Kathy(Kevin) Freidig, Highlands Ranch, CO, and grandchildren, Brianna (Ryan Sandy) Larson, York, PA, Kieran Larson McMurray, San Antonio, TX, and Jared and Jenna Freidig, Highlands Ranch, CO.
Harry, a 4th generation McLean County farmer, grew up west of Washburn on his parents farm. He lived and worked with Howard Fahlgren during childhood, and Harry and Lorene returned to the Falgren's farm in the 1970s for some of the best farm years in recent memory. Harry then was employed as a mechanic at the Coal Creek Power Plant for about 30 years. He enjoyed farming, fishing, NASCAR, collecting toy tractors, visiting his grandchildren, and his dog Gabby.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, David Edward and Marion Irene (Scholl) Larson; grandchild, Evan Freidig; brother-in-laws, Ken Swanson and Charles Sheldon and stepfather, Rueben Reinhardt.
He is survived by his daughters and grandchildren; his sisters, Audrey (Duane) Schuh and Betty Swanson; his brothers, Bill (Audrey) and Richard Larson and sister-in-law, Stephanie Soragham Larson.
