He is survived by his children: David Eugene (Alisha) Brantley Jr. of Enterprise, Fla., Kari (Anthony) Mahler of Findlay and Ammie (Dustin) Comer of Cridersville; grandchildren: Andrew, Christopher, Meludy, Tayler, Destiny Jo, Emily, Lilee, Aaron, Grace and Laura; great grandchildren: Bentley and Lucas; brother, Sterling Jefferson "Bub" Brantley, half-brother, Charles Joseph Altmann; step brothers: Ronald and Lawrence Altman; sisters: Rosie Elizabeth Bell and Connie Marie Mitchem; step sisters: Sharon Miracle and Cheryl Berber and his girlfriend, Betty Spence. He was preceded in death by brothers: Roy Samuel "Sam" Brantley and Sterling Jefferson "Bub" Brantley and sister, Charlene Jewel Smith.
He retired as the custodian at the YMCA and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, classic car shows, cooking that he shared with everyone and his grandchildren and family. He was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and a Michigan fan, being very happy about their recent victory over Ohio State.
