Pioneer Alaska resident Ida Ruth Hoeldt, 93, a homemaker, died Nov. 6 at her Palmer residence. A funeral was held at Lazy Mountain Bible Church in Palmer with the Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Burial followed at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Corey, Bob Hoeldt, Randy Hoeldt, Rod Hoeldt and Bruce Petrie.
Mrs. Hoeldt was born June 12, 1898, in Brainerd, Minn. She came to Alaska in 1941 from Little Fork, Minn. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her children, Leslie Hoeldt, Shirley Dotson and Bud Hoeldt. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Smith of Palmer, and Donna Lynn of Vancouver, Wash.; her son, Kenneth of Kalispell, Mont.; her brother, Joe Petrie of Missouri; her companion, Ed Geving of Palmer; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and other relatives. Arrangements were by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
