Adolphus B. Browning, 92, of Eleanor went home to be with the lord Thursday, February 7, 2008, at his home following a short illness.
He was employed for 33 years as a truck driver for Monsanto Chemical and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of Shiloah Independent Church. The Browning family was one of the original Eleanor homesteaders.

Born January 10, 1916, he was the son of the late Lark S. and Louvenia A. Presley Browning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen V. Browning; daughter, Sharon Snyder; granddaughter, Marcy Browning; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda Smith and husband, David, of Red House and Sandra Keen and fiancé, Rod Nicholson, of Winfield; sons and their wives, William and Pat Browning of Borger, Texas, Stephen and Donna Browning of Eleanor, David Browning of Eleanor and Paul and Dena Browning of Liberty; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, at Shiloah Independent Church with Larry Covert, Paul Arthur and Nyle Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloah Church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
