My 4th Great Grandfather, Jacob Kready, born, 30 September 30, 1748, Kassel, Ahrweiler, Hessen, Germany died March 31, 1828, Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Name also Johannes Jakob Crede, from Kready family book stone says Jacob Kready.
He was as was said to have one of 2 or 3 brothers who came over to this country as Hessian Soldiers during the Revolutionary War. After the War they stayed around Conestoga Center
Possibly one brother went to Pittsburgh. One was said to be named Conrad who returned to Germany after the war.

Jacob Kready, married Elizabeth Frey not long after the War, and settled on a farm
near Central Manor, Manor Township.
Burial plot on their own farm where he and his wife were the first ones to be buried.
This Inscription on the marble markers at their graves in German.

On the stone of his wife's grave the inscription is this,
Elizabeth Frey Kready Born 1768-1856.
age 88 years 9 months 26 days
She died 28 years later than her husband
This original old burial plot was improved with a solid
concrete block over the graves with the tombstones at
their original place, and a double iron railing out around
the same, in 1927 by the members of the Kready Clan

According to his last Will, which is recorded at
Lancaster, they had 9 children, and all participated in the Will.

1. Jacob Kready, born Jan. 25, 1789, died April 14,
1883. Aged 94 years 2 months 19 days.

2. Elizabeth Kready, born July 22, 1790, died Feb.
27, 1849. Aged 58 years 7 months 5 days, Married Paul Illges.

3. Henry Kready, born Sept, 30, 1791, died Sept.29,
1858. Aged 1 day less than 67 years.

4. Nancy or (Magdalena Anne), born Feb.1, 1792, died Aug.
25, 1829. Aged 46 years 6 months 24 days, Married to Jacob Manning.

5. John Kready, born Dec. 24, 1794, died March 21,
1851. Aged 56 yrs 3 months 6 days.

6. George Kready, born Aug. 11, 1797, died May 14,
1858. Aged 71 years 9 month 3 days.

7. Barbara Kready, born April 27, 1799, died June
12, 1885, Aged 86 years 1 month 19 days. Married Henry Gasho.
He died June 16, 1885, Aged 86 years 1 month 19 days.

8. Susanna Kready, born Sept. 16, 1801, died Dec.
28, 1865. Aged 64 years 3 month 12 days. Married William Johnson.

9. Katherine Kready, born 1905 or 1906, died 1882.
Aged 76 yrs. Married to John Cooper 1881 - 1862
They are both buried in the Church of God Cemetery.
