Jessie Collins Igou, formerly of Chattanooga, TN, passed from this life to the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday October 21, 2022, in Okatie, SC.
Jessie was the wife of the late Harry E. Igou. She was also preceded in death by her son David L. Igou, mother, Daisy M. Collins, father, Henry C. Collins, brothers George and Buddy (H. C. Jr.) Collins, sisters Inez Collins, Jane Phillips, and Louise Crawford.
Jessie is survived by her son Mark Igou and his wife Ann of Okatie SC; grandchildren, Thomas Harrison Igou (Mandy) of Chattanooga, Megan Tuttle Saul (Jared) of Eagle, CO and Mary Sparks Wells (daughter-in-law), Caroline Igou McKinney (William) of Greenville, SC, Ashley Marie Wheeling of Roanoke, VA, Brittany Ann Troughton (Chad) of Atlanta, GA and Allen Tripier Wilson (Beth) of Chattanooga as well as 13 great grandchildren, her sister Francis Quarles, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian Church and was fondly connected to many friends there for over 60 years. Jessie enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends from Rivermont, Valleybrook and Creeks Bend Golf Clubs. Nothing thrilled her more than playing in the Chattanooga Women's Golf Association. Jessie was a Registered Nurse and graduate of the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing. Mom loved Christmas. The lights, the decorations, the enchantment of the birth of Christ. She got so excited that we began opening gifts on Christmas Eve as she could wait no longer. She gave Joy to the World.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 31 at 11 a.m. at Lane Funeral Home followed by the burial ceremony at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga at 12:30 p.m. pastor Eric Duble presiding.
