Evelyn B. Miller, age 80, of Preston, Iowa, died Thursday, February 07, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 11th, at the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston. Reverend Gregory Geier will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm Sunday, February 10th, at the Miller – Law – Jones Funeral Home, Preston. Burial will follow the funeral service at Miles City Cemetery, Miles, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Evelyn B. Dague was born August 29, 1927, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Ella Mae (Dodds) Dague. She attended Miles High School. Evelyn was married to Gerald W. Miller on December 20, 1944, at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston. He died in 1980.

Evelyn and Gerald farmed in the Preston area for many years. After they moved to town, Evelyn worked at Brown's Jack & Jill for fourteen years. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church. Evelyn loved cooking and baking, always making sure she had made more than enough food for everyone. She also enjoyed playing cards, but it was the time spent with her family and friends that was most important to her.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her sons, Kennard (Beverly) Miller of Sabula, Iowa, Dennis (Patricia) Miller of Preston, and Brian (Sonia) Miller of Preston; her daughter, Linda (Jeff) Feller of Bettendorf, Iowa; her brother, Everett Dague of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nine grandchildren, ten great – grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Eugene Dague, Gerald Dague, Eldon Dague, and Ival Dague; and one sister Doris Crabb.
