Norma Florine (Brown) Bowers, 93, of Kinsley, Kansas, passed away October 4, 2022. Norma was born September 29, 1929, in Centerview, Kansas, to the late Mable and Leroy Brown. She was united in marriage to Ernest (Ernie) Wayne Bowers May 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1996. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Glenna Slater (Ed) and Marcea (Carl Dean) Wingfield. Later in life she was also a companion to Don Fisher.

A celebration of life will take place at the Kinsley Methodist Church Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon and grave side service at Wayne Cemetery in Lewis, Kansas. Pastor Melissa Naylor will be officiating. McKillip Memorial Funeral Home is taking care of arrangements.

Norma attended grade school and high school in Centerview and was one of only two students in her high school class. In the beginning of her working career, Norma worked for Richardson Abstracts and Taylor and Sons. She enjoyed working with numbers and liked to point out that she was born on September 29, 1929, and husband Ernie was born January 22, 1922. Norma worked for Investors Savings and Loan in Kinsley for 26 years and was the Branch Manager of their Dodge City location. She also served as a County Commissioner for Edwards County for several years, was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, a former member of the Edwards County Historical Society and a former member and officer for the VFW auxiliary.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.
