Died peacefully at home in Dallas on January 27, 2008 from complications related to Alzheimer's Disease.

Joan was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on November 15, 1930. She attended Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) before her marriage to Dick Rundle of Ames, Oklahoma in September 1950.

After college, Joan made a loving home for her family in many places under all sorts of conditions. Besides Texas, those homes were in: Oklahoma, Louisiana, Germany, Venezuela, Colombia, Libya, and England. In 1968 the family returned to the United States locating briefly in Houston before settling in Dallas in 1972.

Joan could cook and sew and needlepoint and embroider with the best. She was an excellent bridge player and she played golf with a 10 handicap. She was a fan of all sports – college basketball was her favorite. In recognition of her work with Parent Teachers Association, Texas Congress of PTA honored her with a Lifetime Membership in 1980.

Her many friends in Dallas will fondly remember Joan for her elegant Christmas parties, a tradition she started during her overseas years when friends substituted for family.

She leaves Dick Rundle, her husband of 57 years; daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Sam Hyde and their son John Rex Hyde of Irving; daughter: Elaine Tricoli of Cedar Hill and Elaine's daughter Laura Tricoli of Dallas; daughter Ann Rundle of Dallas; and by her brother Lew Wade of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
